I own a 2006 pontiac g6 with a panoramic sunroof. It's beautiful but the wind noise is unbelieveable. General Motors is offering to let me trade it in if i pay a 1250.00 usage fee. I have only 8000 miles on it. It's been in the shop 7 times. Please learn from my experience and know that this sunroof has problems that GM will not stand behind. They did offer to buy it back less the 2000.00 rebate, they even kept the rebate, and the amout i was upside down in my trade. I know the rules are the rules but i think they can waive the fees for trade. Beware when you buy this roof that it will have problems

I've test driven another G6 just so i could see if this noise is in all of them. No, it was not noisy like mine. I'm involved with the BBB now.

As you've already discovered, it is not normal to have a lot of wind noise with the panoramic roof. There is something wrong, and your dealer can't fix it. Try taking it somewhere else.

My experience with cars has always been to NEVER buy the first year that a particular model coems out. Considering that the G6 was basically the new Grand Am, I figured I'd give em a try too. I've had Pontiacs since 1992 when they came out with the Grand Am GT with the Quad 4 engine. Now that was an absoluetly perfect engine. No real big problems with the car until I got up around 175,000 miles. But thats just wear and tear.
I have a 2005 G6, but I was looking for the standard moonroof, as the newer panoramic one had been realtively new and I couldnt find much on it as fara s test drives go. So , playing it safe I stuck with what I know about cars and got as many of the options I knew GM could'nt F up. So far, 19K miles later, not bad. Just a couple of minor glitches. But other than that nothing major.

Did you try taking a different G6 for a ride? Maybe you got a lemon. not likely but possible. Or yours broke. If you love the car, what could it hurt to test drive a different G6? Just make sure you take it on the highway, and even if possible, go on a windier day.

You go girl. Nothing like a customer that has been dissatisfied. Been there as well. Plus not only did you get a bad car - lemon law perhaps- but now they want to take more money and your car. Contact your local better business bureau

with all due respect, you should expect noise if you have a sunroof, being that it is just a hole in the roof.

Is it any wonder why GM is the shape it's in today?
