The artist Raymond Ritter von Brennerstien Wichera born Vienne 1862 to1925.famous for his postcards and young ladys and animals several of his drawings and watercolours / oils on auctions such as sotherbys .I have just bought a drawing in pencil on card framed .the central drawing is 25.5 x 18.5 cms
in a frame 37 cms x 45 cms. The picture is of a young lady from the chest up wearing an Easter bonnet and a cat in her right hand and two butterflys to her right. I would like to know 1 I want to try and authenticate that it is a drawing and not a print were any of RRs larger works printed , there were postcards by the ton but I have not been able to find a large print.2 The backing paper on the rear of the frame has disintigrated (this is glued rather than taped on),in one corner showing card , a card with the oval cut out to frame the subject and then a thin stiff card for the main drawing that RR used in a lot of his drawings. No, not without expert advice, take a photo of it and with a full description send it to a reputable auction house.
