700 on each section is pretty good, so a 2100 would be a good score.

A 1200 is. . . well, not so great. The average score is about 1500. Preparation could improve your score by as much as two or three hundred points.

I'm assuming that your talking about the current SAT, by the way. On the old one, a 1200 would have been about what an average student could hope to get with a little preparation.

On the old SAT there were two parts, The lowest score was 200 and the highest score was 800, so the average was supposed to be about 500. A score of 1200 for two tests would be roughly equivalent to saying that you beat 2/3rds of the people who took it, and 1/3rd of the people beat you.

On the new SAT there are three parts. The scores are roughly equivalent, so a total of 1200 on three parts is not too good. That would be roughly equivalent to saying 7/8ths of the people beat you and you beat only 1/8.

ummm... you need to get it in gear, dude. You just flushed $65 down the toilet.

Are you a freshman?
I took the PSAT in my freshman year, briefly read the PSAT study guide the school provided for me, slept late, slept in the car, took the test and got a 1340 while most of my friends got a 1800. The real reason being was that they took the PSAT before and they knew how to tackle it. I, on the other hand, had no clue about it.

If you're a freshman, you don't have to worry about it. I mean, it's your first time. The second time I did much better, even without a calculator..if I had a calculator, I would have improved from about 300 points; a rough estimate.

Study for the PSAT next time, and study for the SATs. You'll do fine, I'm sure.

are u talking about the New SAT where the maxium score is now 2400 or the old one. If that;s the odl SAT you're talking about, this isn't too bad but if it's the news one you need to do some work so you can improve your score.
