a polygraph can by itself not lead to a conviction. Other evidence will have to dismiss or strengthen the outcome. Also, if your lawyer is smart they´ll come up with sufficinet evidence showing how unreliable the method can be.

A lot of people fail a polygraph the first time they take it because they are nervous as well as a hundered other things that can factor in from needing to go to the bathroom to having too much coffee. If you can't retake the test, I would just suck it up as a life experience and move on if you can.

More than likely you really did do it, and you're telling us a lie right now.
Okay, if you need a serious answer...if you really didn't do it, and you failed, then what do you know? You know that the test you were given was faulty.
So, what should you do if the test was faulty? You should have another test done that you paid for. It sucks that you have to pay for it, but having another polygraph done to prove that you were not telling a lie is the way to go.
You were probably telling a lie though.

I'm not sure, and there is a possibility that i am incorrect, but i think that polygraph tests are not 100% accurate and you can probably do research in to such and present this information to your employer. If you were neervous when teh test was administered, i think that is one of the factors that can make the results read incorrect. good luck.

I can't believe they made you take a polygraph test in the first place. If they have that little respect for you, you should get a job somewhere else.

I would have refused the test. Point out that polygraphs are not accepted in most court cases, because they are not 100% accurate.

Well, keep in mind polygraphs are not 100% effective. Do you have witnesses to help prove your innocent? Good luck!

Oh my goodness! This happened to a woman like a year ago, and she failed it too! They made her do about 50 hours of community service. But fortunately for her they found what she "stole" like a year later and got tons of money from the company for compensation. I think lie detector tests are not always good, especially if you go in being so scared. The best thing to do is find a good lawyer who knows about lie detector tests and perhaps getting him to get you another test where you can be calm and more relaxed. Good luck, and I hope everything works out.

Well, how big is the thing? are they pressing charges? if they are then you can get fined, if not then you can just get fired. IF theyre not pressing charges, just quit. If they are, request to take the polygraph again and this time, dont be so nervous about it! just relax and know that you didnt do it, so you have no reason to be nervous
