well, a deviation is something that is not normal, apply that to sex, and you have your answer.

Deviation means to be different from the "norm", or rather these days, what is "usually accepted within a society or group" (as there is no longer such a thing as normal because everyone has now concluded everyone is very different from eachother).
For example, if you are a non-alcohloic and socialise with a group of alcoholics, you then "deviate" from the norm.
This example also demonstrates that to "deviate" or be a "deviation" is not nessessarily a bad or unacceptable thing.
I wouldn't consider homosexuals to be "sexual deviants", as it's is now quite common/well known/acceptable thing, in addition I think it can be considered an insult to those who are homosexual and sensitive about their sexuality.
However, if you want to know what could be considered "sexual deviation", I would say paedophilia would be the most suitable example, as it is considered unacceptable in most cultures, (I say most due to witchdocter myths, it is still wrong but uneducated people don't understand), it is illegal and horrific to the highest extent.
I'm sorry for such a morbid answer.
In addition, I knowticed an answer state just now, it goes against what "God" intended. I don't think that's nessassarily true-and I'm Christian. A christian with a few homosexual friends too, and they are all lovely people who do not deserve descrimination, just because it says "no homosexuality please" in the bible. It is their choice and they don't need other people judging them, for it is not other people's place to judge. I love them all to bits, equally as my straight friends.
Sorry, rant over. It's just annoying when people say things stereotypical in accordance with christianity, it can make us believers look so bad sometimes. I am Christian yet my faith in God seems to be different to everyone elses. LOL! I'm a devian-christian. Get it? I'm sorry if I'm boring you with my religion rant, I hope you have a nice day.

I seem to remember that deviant was a tag used in various psycho babble contexts in the sixties. You had social deviants (also a band), mental deviants, sexual deviants, etc. The term sexual deviant, I believe, has been abandoned by sensible psychologists and psychiatrists and is used nowadays mainly by Religious Deviants.

Whatever is outside sexual conduct that you, for whatever reason, consider to be "normal", moral, ethical, legal or acceptable. For some, any sex not for procreation is deviant. For others, it might be homosexuality, beastiality, anything other than the missionary position, masturbation, pedophilia, porn and so on.
Personally, I consider it any sexual conduct that victimizes - like rape, beastiality, pedophilia, forced sexual subservience and so forth. If you are an adult and you and the other adult consent to the activity or relationship and noone is victimized (including possible observers), I don't care what you do. Note I said victimized - someone being outraged at two men showing affection for each other, but not outraged by a man and woman doing so, doesn't count as victimization! Same goes for outrage based on your religious beliefs - that's judgement, not victimization.

Nothing but subjective terminology used to discriminate against others. For some "Sexual Deviant" would mean any sexual contact other than for procreative purposes, for others it would mean particular sexual positions or the use of "sex toys".
The only consideration that matters is legality. Is the person able to legally consent to sex? At that point, if the answer is yes, then the issue of sexual deviancy becomes superfluous, as it is no longer up for public debate and no one else's business.

Well the term Deviant is not a good thing, Some people feel that because you are a homosexual, that you are going to try to screw everyone of the same sex as you. All that you want to do is have sex.
Sexual Deviant in my book is reserved for those who commit sex crimes against people, such as pedophiles against children, people who have raped others, get the drift.
So in closing, its not correct to associate deviant with Homosexuality

No, in society, a deviant is anyone whose behavior falls outside the boundary of normal set by the rules and attitudes of that society. This could mean he engages in non-traditional sexual behavior, such as BDSM (bondange, dominance, sadism, masichism), fetishism, or any of a number of "weird or bizzare" acts, as seen by the society. It is interesting to see how the boundaries within society change to accept different ideas as time goes on; for example, it was crazy for women to vote not too very long ago....

A sexual deviant could mean almost anything. Some might think people who like S & M or bondage could be sexual deviants. Personally i think a sexual deviant is someone who has illegal sexual tastes such a peadophiles or rapists. Certainly not homosexuals.

Deviation is departure from an established norm. According to the American Psychological and Psychiatric Associations "normal" human sexuality refers to heterosexual, homosexual, or BDSM sex between consenting adults. Child molestation or bestiality would be deviant. I don't consider rape to be a sex act in any way, that is an act of violence.

In psychology, a sexual deviant refers to someone with sexual tastes which are incompatible with society e.g. involving children, animals, rape, violence. It can also refer to a paraphilias, which even though might not cause harm to society, interferes with normal sexual functioning e.g. fetishism.
Homosexuality isn't regarded as a disorder in psychology, and hence it wouldn't be regarded as deviant in the sense of there being something wrong.
