How old are you?
What job are you looking for in the long run?
Education?

I would say, start with your resume. Make it sound and look very professional. It's a good start.
now, make an explanation or an insinuation in your resume as to why you have not had a job before. If you're young than you should indicate on your objective portion that you are entering the professional work force and are looking for the entry level positions.

also, think about working for a small business for a year or so. you'll get tremendous experience and will deal with various and numerous facets of the business operation.

make friends with a at least one person at your job and when you move on to a better job, ask them to provide references to future potential employees.

Craigslist.org is a good resource ( depending on where you live: in some areas it seems to be a more reliable and efficient engine than in others).
Monster.com
temping agencies
locale publications

Friends and/or relatives can help: someone always knows someone who would or does need some help.

Here's what the experts say. Do some volunteer work. This will give you transferrable skills.

Take stock of the skills you do have from babysitting (ie. organizing, scheduling, etc). There are "job search skills" workshops out there that can help you learn how to sell yourself. This means calling perspective employers, arranging to meet with them even if they don't have a position available, meeting with them so they can put a face to the resume. Employers like people who take the initiative.

These courses can also be listed on your resume and will show a perspective employer that you are willing to learn and improve yourself.

Some jobs don't require any experience and only minimum training, (ie. telephone interviewer). If you speak clearly and enunciate well, you can get a job doing this.

Good luck. There's a job out there fore you.

Depends on how old you are. If you're a teen then you can get away with having no experience, places like food service usually hire people with little experience. If you're much older and out of high school try going to a temp agency.

Employers don't want honesty, they really don't. I've found it helpful to lie at job interviews. Just don't lie to the point where you can be found out, tweak the facts here and there, I've found that helpful. Most managers don't call your old job and inquire about you. They will usually call references, do a criminal background check and that's pretty much it. They really won't do much if its a minimum wage or low wage job.

Ask family, friends to help you out, see if they can refer you to someone. As for your question, I got my first job when I was about 16 at Sears. I had no experience and I told them as much, but they still hired me because when you're 16 they really don't expect much experience out of you, in fact, they expect none.

Don't give up, you'll get hired eventually. At your next job if they say they don't want to hire you because you have no experience, say nicely, "I keep getting the same answer wherever I seem to go, but how can I get experience if no one hires me?"

Someone will give you a chance, but you just have to learn how to play the interview game into your favor. The only way to do that is go to interviews and learn from your experiences, and really the interview isn't just for them but for you as well. You don't want to work for a jerk, in a way you're also interviewing them when you go and interview.

First jobs usually suck, try to stay somewhere at least a year or two, and build work history. Employers like longevity even though not too many people these days stay too long at jobs, things have changed since our grandparents used to hold jobs. So even if its bagging groceries, at your next job you can impress them.

Hopefully your next job won't be a sucky one, best of luck to you.

You can use a computer clearly! That's all you need to get most office admin jobs. My first job was as an administrator in an office and I worked as a temp through an agency. It's the quickest way to get into work and earn money. You'll build up experience and confidence and you can apply for permanent positions while you are earning. Employers are more likely to take you on if you are actually working because you are demonstrating that you are employable. Good luck babe.

you are lying to yourself. you have tons of experience, you just don't see it as such! For example your babysitting, did you manage money with that? did you plan trips for the kids? did you plan and prep meals? find a job you want, figure out what they want and find how what experience you have may help you get it. The top four things employers really look at are honesty, dependablitily, trustworthy and if they could trust the person with their kids. Don't go to an interview looking grunge, loose your style to what people trust; conservative colors, styles, neat, no piercings etc... look the part and smile alot.

Have you tried volunteering? most non-profit organizations almost need office help, if that's what you are looking for. and they don't require much experience as long as you can learn on the job. From there you can start building a resume, go on Craigslist, call temp agencies, post your resume online. Be sure your friends and relatives all know you are looking for a job (and what you are looking for). Network can be a powerful thing.

It was pretty easy to get my first job besides babysitting. I walked into the Burger King and asked for an application.

Well depends how old you are. My first job was at the age of 14. I got it through school. It was a summer job.

You can go apply to stores, the mall, and supermakets. Although this are not great jobs, they do give you the experience you need and can slowly move up to a better job.

Depends on your expectations I guess. I got my first job at Burger King--don't think it matters to them if your only job so far has been babysitting. So try retail, restaurants/fast food, or, maybe you could find something at a ranch or a farm, if you're into animals. They often are in need of farmhands/ranch-hands. Good luck.

people will hire u for less.
if u just start for experience, don't care about how much they will pay u first.
some people will hire u if u don't ask high payment.
that's how everybody with no experience started.

or maybe u can start to work to people that u know. or to the friends of them, by their recommendation.

Wish u the best.
