Stale whole wheat non-dense bread is safe for rabbits if given in very small portions and unfrequently. No honey whole wheat or sweet whole wheat...just plain all-natural WHOLE WHEAT.

The key is that the bred MUST be stale (but NOT moldy), and it must be whole wheat. Bleached flours (white bread) is harder to digest for them, and the nutritional benefits (such as the boost of fiber that the whole wheat gives) aren't as great.

So, yes, and no. Stale whole wheat is healthy in providing fiber and certain vitamins/minerals...HOWEVER, your rabbit can get the same benefits by consuming unlimited amounts of Timothy Hay and fresh greens (herbs especially)...which are much easier to digest...and chances are your rabbit will prefer them over stale whole wheat breads.

A slice of BROWN bread daily is not bad for rabbits. I am not saying that it is good for them, but it won't do them any damage. At least it doesn't to the fifty two rabbits we have in our care at the rescue. White bread is no good for them. If you dry the brown bread out, not toast it, this is good, because it will clean their teeth at the same time.

I know that if you dry out a piece of bread, guinea pigs can have a little bit of the hard dry bread. I don't see why rabbits couldn't as well, they are more hardy than piggies.

I don't think it's good for them, however i have fed bread twice a day to 4 rabbitts over a 4 year period and none have suffered. In fact they love it and eat it before they touch their fresh greens or rabbit food.

Bread is not good for guinea pigs. Why are people so stupid, I would think it would not be good for rabbits. Google for rabbit health and feeding..
