My son is 9 months old and only has 2 teeth. He likes to feed himself by grabbing small peices of food with his fingers like cheerios. What else can i give as finger foods?

Cheerios, the Gerber Snack foods (like the little wheels--can't remember the name). Baby teething crackers/ cookies, vanilla wafers or graham crackers pieces, maybe some cooked pasta noodles without the sauce (until your sure his tummy can handle the tomatoes). Basically anything you can hold in your mouth without chewing and it gets mushy is safe. Always be right there and let him try different things. This is a fun time when food all over the place is great!

With the exception of obvious things - spicy foods, foods that could choke them, or foods which are too small for them to chew (e.g., nuts, etc) - babies at 9mos with a few teeth can gnaw just about anything! And it's a good way to introduce them to new foods.

Any kind of fruits or vegetables.
My babies loved sucking on tomatoes, cucumbers, carrot sticks, etc. I always cut them large enough and of course, made sure I watched them carefully when eating these kinds of foods. But, the more obvious foods are bananas, apples, oranges, pineapple, etc.

If the baby tends to like savoury foods -- give him a chicken bone. Or a beef bone (i.e. t-bone) to suck and gnaw on. Mine used to love this!

Don't give too many refine grains -- try to go with natural grains - wholemeal, etc.

I don't agree with the comment about eggs. As long as the eggs are well cooked - it should not be a problem for the baby!

Have fun -- this is the best phase!:)
Hope this is of some help.

Steamed veggies, french fries, raw carrots if he is teething, pretzel sticks, and keep the cheerios. Kid's love cherios and there not bad for you either. Also try some fruit like cantalope, pears, bananas, watermelon, and strawberys. Pitless cherries are good too. Bread is also good. And thats all healthy exept for french fires! When he has the pretzel sticks if you put a little peanut butter he gets a litle more protein and it tastes a little sweeter

Encourage your baby to chew even if he doesn't have many teeth. Avoid biscuits and rusks so that he doesn't get into the habit of sweet snacks. Try toast, pitta bread, slices of soft ripe peeled fruit, bananas, pears, peaches, melon. Cooked vegetable pieces, cubes of cheese, pasta shapes. Always stay near to your child during feeding to give encouragement to make sure he doesn't choke.

in the uk eggs before 12 months are not recommended.
at 9 months your little ones gums are pretty powerful but keep the food softish and the pieces small no fruits like apple(too hard)
but fruit and veggies are generally perfect and are good thing to get started on.

My 9 month old loves Gerber Fruit Puffs in the canister - eats them up like crazy! She also loves little bits of soft fruits and bits of cheese, crackers, and cooked veggies.

Any type of fruit that you will peel and cut it to his size. Slice bread. When you to the supermarket, in the baby's area, look out for those boxes with allot of stuff for babies to chew. You will have allot of fun. Of course, not hurt him, make sure everything is really soft. When I remember more, I email you.

"real nutrition" is high quality in case you puree it. that is unquestionably plenty greater decrease priced and greater healthy than figuring out to purchase the prepackaged Gerber infant ingredients. What I did with my son became i might use a infant nutrition mill and can mush/puree despite my hubby and that i've got been having for dinner and supply it to my son. while he became around 9 months previous i might positioned nutrition on his highchair tray (pulled up next to the table so he felt like he became eating with Mommy and Daddy) and he might feed himself. It quite provides incentive to devour healthful. i might make issues like baked candy potatoes, peas and baked rooster. organic and organic pasta and sauce with diced purple peppers, olives, onions, etc. He additionally cherished to snack on cheerios for the time of the day. merely make sure that the products are small and he won't choke. not at all circulate away him on my own whilst eating. do not feed him junk like products of warm canines (huge choking risk and entirely undesirable), french fries, etc. And beware for issues like raisins, grapes, etc. (Choking risks besides)
