The index defines corruption as the abuse of public office for private gain and measures the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among a country's public officials and politicians.

All countries are corrupt the difference between western countries and third world countries is in third world countries corruption leeds to obviuos suffering of the general public since there is very little wealth in those countries. In developed countries you can still as much as you want or buy a lordship no one would be the wiser because it does not affect the general public. Academicaly its Chad. But then we have Mexico, Russia Nigeria, Italy and ecen in the USA we had of the watergate scandal rigging of elections.

a place that is accustomed to kidnapping university girls, rape them, hand them over to the royal police to rape, and then feed them to hungry Doberman dogs while the girls are still alive sounds pretty corrupt to me. I like the USA more and more everyday.
By the way, this was in fact done by on of Saddam's sons quite often. Thank God the animal is dead!!!

SERIOUSLY India It's got all it's corruption under control.Know WHY?Because all your International call centre's are there so the Indian's know who's screwing who how many time's a day or week or month or year don't go blaming or pointing finger's at any nation because that's out of order,look at your own nation for starter's then look to find fault with other nation's.by the time you finish looking at the faults of your own nation you'll be too old to have time to look at other nations faults.

Bangladesh has once again topped the list of the most corrupt country for the 5th consecutive time in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2005 of Transparency International (TI). Among the 159 countries, Bangladesh ranked 158th with the scoreof 1.7 points in the CPI while Central African country Chad ranked159th having scored the same points (1.7), local daily The Bangladesh Observer reported on Wednesday.
The top 10 most corrupt countries with their scores are Chad (1.7), Bangladesh (1.7), Turkmenistan (1.8), Myanmar (1.8), Haiti (1.8), Nigeria (1.9), Equatorial Guinea (1.9), Ivory Coast (1.9), Angola (2.0) and Uzbekistan (2.2).
The top 10 least corrupt countries in 2005 along with their score are Iceland (9.7), Finland (9.6), New Zealand (9.6), Denmark(9.5), Singapore (9.4), Sweden (9.2), Switzerland (9.1), Norway (8.9), Australia (8.8) and Austria (8.7).

All lists I have seen show the country of Chad to be the most corrupt.

I think that in Gods eyes, and mine, no one is worse than the other. We all have come short of the glory of God. But if you have noticed the good old U.S.A. was built on Christian beliefs, and we are the most powerful nation in the world. God has blessed America, and England. Woa.....there are so many, it's hard to choose. The Sudan is very bad, so is Iran and a lot of others. Mexico is corrupt, but it doesn't compare with some of the Islamic theorocratic dictatorships who committ genocide. The are the worst.
