Your thank you's should go something like

"Thank you so much for the _________ . I know I will love ________(insert how item will be used.) It was great that you thought of us.
Thanks again,
Momma, Daddy and Baby

During your shower have a friend or relative write down names and the gifts they gave you. I always felt this was a rude action at showers until I had one and realized it serves a purpose. If you have the list of names and the gifts then the Thank you cards are a breeze. Simply write ... Thank you (name) for the (gifts). I think they are adorable. or... It will be of great use. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Thank you cards are not expected to be lengthy. You'll surely have many to write. Congratulations and God bless!

How about something like this---
Thank you very much for the baby stroller. It will sure be useful on these fall days when we go for walks in the park. It was nice of you to remember us.
Thanks,
Harriett and Ozzie Show

Make sure you name the item and how you will use it. If they attend the shower, tell them how you appreciate that too. I love writing thank yous and no, don't send them to me to do as I've been there done that but may be I would for a price (ha ha). Congratulations and have fun. People are always telling me how much they enjoyed getting my thank you note in the mail. Take the time to write something that shows you care about them and their gift.

for starters, its tacky to have your own baby shower. kind of like give me stuff for no reason at all. Get a sister, your mom, or a friend to do it.

I would just keep it short and simple. Thanks for coming, thanks for the gift(make sure you name the gift specifically in each card though).
