As for me:

Been there, plan on moving there next year.

Love Texas; friendly people, so much to do.

I think of cowboys, Austin, San Antonio, stockyards, desert, piney woods, Galveston, Eva Longoria, Hilary Duff, George W. Bush, Gov. Rick Perry, cosmopolitan cities, no income tax, Alamo, Austin City Limits, McGregor Cafe, Mile marker 880 on I-10, Bob Knight, the state flag, and so on.

Keep in mind Fiesta time in San Antonio. You will have a "BLAST !" I am from there. Two years ago. I had a chance of traveling to Las Vegas , California, Arizona, New Mexico, I felt very out of place. Take it that I had a vacation of 2 weeks. Texas is such a lay back state. We have had the opportunity of college football teams coming to play here in our Alamo dome. And they stick around for the most part of there schedule stay time. Hey, New Years bash ........... I can't even explain ! I guess that's why they say: "Y'all come back now !" I love my big state !

I'm in San Angelo, and I've lived in Texas most of my life. There's a commercial that used to play all the time that said "Texas, it's a whole 'nother country" and I will always believe this. We have a little bit of everything, and I know I'm being biased, but I think the people are friendlier than anywhere else. I've lived here, Houston, Dallas, Beaumont, Brady, Galveston, Sweetwater, and Bon Weir. In most parts, our roads are excellent, and the economy is diversified so much that we have a job to fit just about anyone.

I moved around a lot when I was a teenager, and could have chosen to live in many different places, but I came home, and I'm glad.

I went to visit there last year in late December and early Jan, and we were wearing Shorts, Whats up with that? i think it is WAY to freakin hot, but other then that its pretty, and I didn't really run into any "ghetto" people. I was in a little town called Kyle, and I went to Austin, and a couple other places.
