I recently started school this last month and I usually have a regular period. I took a pregnancy test this morning but it was negative. I'm only like 5 days late but I'm still scared I might be pregnant. Could stress on school affect your menstrual cycle?

I don't think you have to worry yet. It's been 5 days and you could still get your period. Secondly, large life changes can alter your menstrual cycle. Thirdly, are you on Birth control pills, I hope that you are since you seem to be sexually active and are worried about getting pregnant. If you are, then it is not uncommon for women to get light spotting or no periods at all even though they usually have regular periods while on birth control. Some signs to look out for is swollen or tender breast, nausea or vomitting, and increase tiredness to name a few, are signs that you could be pregnant. At this point, I wouldn't be worried, especially if you have taken a pregnancy test, however, not to scare you, you can get false negatives w/ over the counter preg. tests, but it is fairly rare. Just try to be patient and I am sure everything will be fine, it's common. Good luck and hope this helps.
