I had NO sales experience and got a job selling new cars at a great dealership in Alberta. Then I left because it's dishonest, and tried again at another dealership that gave me a chance right away.

The first place I went to laughed at me, so getting the job at a far better dealership was funny. I'm sure with your experience you can get an auto sales job with ease. Canadians are wusses, (myself included). We rotate out of sales jobs quickly.

A strong car salesman can expect to earn around 75 to 120 grand per year after they've built up a clientelle at one good dealership for a few years. It's a great job for a liar.

P.S. If you have a foreign accent such as English or Australian, that will help you a lot in sales in Canada. The one woman I knew with an english accent was a good but not great saleswoman. She made about 100,000 / year selling to about every third person (most of our traffic was rather committed to buying because we were out of the city). Some accents are a detriment of course.
