The Miss World Pagent, and the Miss Universe Pagent? I honestly do not know...

They get their contestants from two different contest programs. Miss Universe contestants are Miss America, Miss Canada and so forth. These are contestants that have to demonstrate some sort of talent, such as singing, dancing or other performing.
The Miss World pageant draws from the Miss USA and other national programs that are beauty and appearance, only. There is no talent segment in the competition.
Thankfully, all these silly Miss competitions seem to be winding down.

Maybe it's like Miss America and Miss USA and they are just owned by different people.

Nothing just another way to exploit women...No really I don't think there is any real difference other than who owns the rights to the show...
