Put 2 + 2 together.
This has the making of a very intelligent and smart terroist attack in the form of our own food.
Think about it for a second, a very smart way of doing something that probably takes little effort/money.
Wake up media.

Then again......terrorists aren't about the expected, as in beef/etc.
Think about it, spinnich is used in many ways other than served alone

Also, you speak of old fashion contamination...but as he mentioned, it spread to a hotel...it's concentrated heavily in michigan which has the largest muslim population, and recent stories of a thrwarted plot to blow up a bridge near the great lakes. i promise you there has to be a link here

If they wanted to get to us through our food supply, I PROMISE you, spinich would be at the bottom of the list along with brussel sprouts.
Potatoes and beef would be the targets.

For a great site for information on e coli, especially concerning meat, go to www.fsis.usda.gov. The Food Safety Inspection Service is in charge of regulating the meat, poultry, and egg industry, as well as performing security inspections. I don't believe this is a terrorist act. If the terrorist wanted to attack the agricultural sector, it would make more sense to go after a product that had more economical value than spinach. A concern would be introducing a foreign animal disease to the beef population, or intentionally contaminating meat products in large quantities at some of the large meat processors in the midwest. Both of these would cause loss of sales, destruction of animals and products, and lost exports. The damage would be in the billions of dollars and ruin one of the US' strongest agricultural sector.

OH PLEASE. E-Coli is from excrement(poop). If the food handlers do not wash their hands after going to the bathroom, they contaminate the food. That is why food workers at resteraunts have to wear gloves.A good example of food being contaminated by e-coli is back several years ago when people became gravely ill.It was deterimed to be e-coli.It was traced back to the restauraunt chain-Jack-IN The box.E-coli is also a contaminate found in beef that has been improprly handled.
So it isn't terrorist related.it is poop related.Everyone is getting real handy at blaming terrorist for everything. If people would practice proper hygiene before touching our food then we wouldn't need to worry so much.

wow your 2+2 = 22 such math!!! get over it will you terrorist indeed! E.coli can come from contamination at the farm, the packaging plant or even the distributor..... the origin can be anything stop trying to start unnecessary gossip stories. By the way deaths caused by E. coli virus is very, very few. and Spinach if I am not mistaken is the most hated food in America so have no fear. I can't even say get your facts straight 'cos this was something you thought of... so my advice keep your theories with you Einstein and don't float them around without solid proofs!

No, Michigan does NOT have the largest Muslim population.
Breakdown of Muslim population:
California 20% of nation's Muslims
New York 16%
Illinois 8%
New Jersey 4%
Indiana 4%
Michigan 3%
Virginia 3%
Texas 3%
Ohio 3%
Indiana even, although with far fewer people, has more Muslims than Michigan.

No just another BULLSHIT 'ALERT' by this clueless administration.
E.Coli is a disease mosttly associated with meats. Now you think about this: do you eat raw spinach? If you do then you are at risk. If you cook it in a meal there is not hing to worry about because the purpose of 'COOKING' is to kill harmful bacteria not just to make a flavorful dish.
These BUNGLING BABBOONS OF BUSH'S administration doesn't have a damn clue what is going on...You seem to buy into all this garbage too because you are presuming conspiracy and terrorism!
When would people wake up and stop panicking at every bit of government propaganda????

I think it has more to do with importing food cheaply from other countries that have less exacting standards than our own.
This is similar to the alfalfa sprout issue that was in the headlines not so long ago.
I found this article, which doesn't pertain to sprouts or spinach exactly, but helps explain.

Oh please wake up yourself, we dont need them to tamper with our food that is what the fda is for. E-coli comes from cows it is something that is naturally in their bodies and yours. Over use of antibiotics causes it to overgrow because the antibiotics dont kill it but it does kill other bacteria that usually keeps it in check.
