on T.I.'s album 'King' there's a song called 'Stand Up Guy'. great song, but what does he actually mean by it....

A "Stand-Up uy" is somebody you can count on, somebody dependable - the term was originally used by (old-school, read "Mafia") gangsters to describe a guy who they could rely on not to rat them out to the police - it's been adapted nowadays to mean "a guy who won't leave you, won't cheat on you with your best friend, and will generally act like a man rather than a guy"

It means a "good guy." Someone that's not a player or a thug/gangsta/hoodlum.....
