I watched some today and it doesn't look that way. I'm confused.

No, Theresa and Ethan heard them trying to get in and stopped. Ethan wanted Gwen and Jared to catch them in Chris's office together but Theresa begged him not too in fright of losing Jared. Just as Jared got the door open it was just Ethan standing in the office, and Theresa had gone out through the window. As Ethan was "explaining" as to why he was in Chris's office with a locked door he kept looking out the window causing suspicion. Theresa was able to walk the ledge to another window and get into Crane Building that way and sneak up on everyone. Jared accused Ethan of spying, seeing as that he was on a floor he had no business being on.
And that's where the next day picked up, hope it helps.
