Is this something you are going to need often or just in this situation? If it is just for one time then bring it to the bank or if you need it more often, like if you own a business then you should buy a counterfeit money detector pen. It will tell you if it is coutnerfeit or not by making a mark on it. I left you a link to staples that has it.

You mean examining the bills for counterfeit? You have to hold the actual bills up to a bright light that reveals holograms in the dollars. The new 20's have a strip in them that says USA USA all the way across. And the symbols have holograms in them when you hold them up to the light. Iran was too good at producing fakes so you have to check them against a good light.
