This is not meant to be racist & I'm sorry if anyone interprets it that way. I am a biology major and I'm fascinated by people's migration & the effect of the sun on different races, how people have adapted to different weather conditions, etc. & considering writing my thesis on this. Also my girlfriend is Jewish!

I'm wondering if the reason why so many American and other Jews have very light skin that doesn't look very Middle Eastern or Mediterranean at all is because their DNA is overwhelmingly European, perhaps Eastern European or Russian?

Or do some people in the Middle East naturally have fair skin (for example if the Jews had never left the Middle East).

i understand your question, but i was under the assumption that being Jewish is a religious affiliation. i know all colors of people that attend synagogue that consider themselves Jewish, maybe what you are looking for is Hebrew.

Ask you girlfriend.... You've about answered your own question though.... Jews of European origin are known as Ashkenazim. Jews from the middle east are known are Sephardim. Ashkenazim were originally Sephardim but got their genetics diluted with Northern European genes through intermarriage and interbreeding. Both populations have wide variabilty in complexion. Ashkenzim have a higher occurence of genetic birth defects (such as Tay-Sachs disease and many others) than the general population apparently due to a lot more cousin intermarriage and a limited gene pool. I'm sure there is more to the story, but you will have to do the research. BTW, DNA studies on Sephardim men and Palistinean arab men showed no significant differences.

People from Iran to Iceland, and from Morocco to Murmansk are all European.

Skin color evolves rapidly. People from northern India came in as light-skinned invaders 2000 years ago, and are now quite dark. Conversely, Laps have lightened over the millennia.

No. What explains their skin color is the fact that DNA is Biodata that has all the information that each one of us need. Jews are humans like the rest of us and there Genetic Make-up is no different.

It only takes a small variation in the DNA strand to make a huge difference.

Evolutionists hate the fact that Micro-Evolution is only small variation in a kind. There are limits to that.

Humans have been human all along. Jews are human.

I have a jewish friend and he told me that thier ancestors were raped by a nationality I forgot the name of. But that is why they are pale skin. And I don't know if it were before or after christ. But if it was before, the pale skinned jesus depictions could be accurate.
