Yes I live in Alabama.An yes there were slaves and indentured servants.After the civil war most of this went away.Today there are people that are slaves to drugs and alcohol here in the state.

I live in Alabama, I'm not sure I get your question though. Yes, there were slaves in Alabama, as well as almost every other state in the time of slavery. For some stupid reason, people here have just held on to old beliefs of the past regarding race. It is getting better though, I can tell a difference since I moved here about 20 years ago.

I'm not from Alabama, but I do know from social studies class that the citizens of the state of Alabama were slaveowners. I'm sure you already know that slavery is a terrible thing, but rest assured that the sins of our forefathers aren't yours to apologize for, nor does the history of slavery in the south take away from the glory and beauty of America, Alabama, or the people who live there now.
