Because black people , i'm presuming we're talking about America here where black and white is often such a polarizing issue, are a minority of approximately 13 or 14% of the overall population. "White" people, or, Caucasian European-descended people , are still the dominant majority here in every way. If it were a reverse situation, it would be more acceptable to perhaps have a "miss white usa", etc. As it stands now, that would come off as, and would probably in fact be, simply another example of racism when the dominant majority in the country flaunts their dominant status by having things such as "miss white usa" pageants, or having a "national association for the advancement of white people" or some such things like that.

You are right....kind of. We as whites do not label our programs, magazines, pageants etc... as WHITE programs or WHITE magazines etc.. But you have to admit that most of them are 99% white. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I think that blacks or any other ethnic gruop has the right to their own cultural majority entertainment. It would NOT be OK if they excluded anyone from these, just as it would not be OK for the Whites or Hispanics or WHATEVER to do the same.
And as far as Jesse Jackson or Al Sharptongue...WHO CARES??!!?? They are a couple of bad comedians. They are a disgrace to their culture and hertiage. THEY ARE THE BLACK VERSION OF THE KKK!

I know!! That is so true!!! And then they turn around and say we exclude them and that we are the racists ones!! And don't forget the ***** College Fund. They stopped using the word ***** in the title of the fund. I just noticed that on a commercial a few weeks ago! There also isn't a "white history month", it is annoying! You're right, its not very fair. If a black person wants to start a discussion group and only allow blacks, then its fine, but if a white person wants to do the same, then they're a nazi. It seems like whites are the only ones not allowed to be proud of their race these days.
I can't really answer your question, though, because I don't get it either. Maybe its just one of those stupid things that doesn't have a reasonable explanation.

white people already have their own channels and pagents whether they are designated to be so or not. so stop wit that. i am so tired of white people bitching about that. you get over it. i guess a century or more of opressing people isnt enough to tell you why people are uncomfortable with it.

also they do have events for whites. they just arent general. they are specific like german and italian cause i see them all the time.
