It is apparent that Britain and the USA are afraid to unleash their full military strength to irradicate the cancer that is terrorism. The enemy is known just as clearly as when Hitler was over-running Europe. Perhaps now is the time to use the nuclear alternative in order to bring the muslim nations back to heel. As unpleasant an alternative as it may be, it must be recognised that to remove a cancer, some benign cells must be sacrificed. Is there any sacrifice too great to guarantee the Western Worlds way of life?

Americans don't understand their own denial

I expect the hysterical cries of "The Muslims are coming! The Muslims are coming!" Have you learned nothing about the world? Can you not see the obvious manipulations of the U.S.-U.K. intelligence community in these bogus "terror alerts"?

Gee, whadda ya know, it's time for a midterm election and George Bush has a 30% approval rating --- and here come the Muslim hordes because they "hate our freedoms"!

Grow up. The American government spends over $500 billion a year on defense, over $60 billion a year on intelligence. That's more than the rest of the world combined. That sound you hear is not a billion Muslims strapping bombs to their chests. That sound you hear is the American military-intelligence complex prodding the stupid citizens who pay for it. They've got plans for martial law in America, and you people are prattling on about Islamofascism.

Many Americans find the government's message much more reassuring than the actual facts. The government's message is: "America is virtuous. Virtuous America was attacked by evil terrorists. America is protecting itself by going to war and overthrowing regimes that sponsor or give shelter to terrorists, erecting in their place democracies loyal to America."

Sugarcoated propaganda doesn't present Americans with the emotional and mental stress associated with the hard facts.

The first 9/11 was an inside job. The next one -- probably in the next two months, just in time for the elections -- will also be made in America. Open your eyes and see the real enemy.

yes, it has gone too far.
everyone is blaming the wrong people for the wrong reasons.
your friends' son would still be alive if it wasn't for that clownmonkey Bush. it was Bush's decision to send troops into Iraq and soon enough, more young son's of America will die there because they are fighting a war that cannot be won by conventional weapons.
you are fighting an enemy who does not fight fair and does not care about innocent children. they will kill all who get in their way.

Bush is going to call upon more young men in America to fight for this war that is truely meaningless. Why do I say that?
because it will help nobody but his own buddies. All the contracts to rebuild Iraq will go to his golfing buddies and friends of Dick Cheney.

All your friend's mother will get for her son's death is a letter from Donald Rumsfeld saying how great her son was and it won't even be signed by him..it's a copy of his signature!!!

what an insult!

seriously, Bush is the problem.
those protesters are wrong for slamming the military..the military are just doing their job.
Bush is the problem because he's telling the military to go fight for something that doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
and what's worse is what's still to come.
Bush will draft more young men to fight in Iran in the next month or so when that war will begin.

I'd agree that we are fighting with one hand tied behind our back but I don't think using nuclear is an alternative.
I would tear up the Geneva Convention as this seems to only protect those who contravene it at will. They kidnap, behead, murder, all in the name of their cause. They torture, maim and displace peoples, all in the name of their cause.
If caught they are then granted rights under a protocol they have never recognised. This is not about West v everyone else, it is about having a level playing field. If they want to fight a war with no rules why should we abide by rules.
It sounds harsh but, to take Afghanistan as an example, the military should identify those areas where the Taliban are holed up and advise the local civilian population to leave within two days (obviously this would be monitored), the area should then be carpet bombed with everything short of nuclear.
Those who perpetrated 9/11 had they been arrested would have been afforded their human rights (although they had denied it to so many), they would have been entitled (under our laws) to justice and humanity (although they denied it to so many).
Let's fight them under their rules, it may seem harsh but, they are the ones who have decided that social change can only be brought about by extreme violence and a total disregard for innocent lives.

The USA are the real terrorists. The USA is the only country in the world to have used a nuclear weapon on a nation (JAPAN). The USA went into an ILLEGAL war with IRAQ. The war was not VETO but still the USA decided to go to war. I think that the USA should stop interferring with the middle east and his puppy Blair should stop following him. Is it really fair to kill so many innocent people for OIL???? Thats all it comes down to. The USA doesn't care about the people and giveing them liberty. If they really cared for people, why don't they help poor African nations?? The answer is because there is no oil for them to steal.

The USA started the war, and when people take revenge or defend themselves, its called terrorism.

actually, cancer can be cured by herbal medicine step by step as go on...and terrorism can be solve by traditional diplomacy on step by step also...

as of now, the political strategy of everyone are not usual...i mean they are not conventional...There are a lot of social problems that can be solved by internal government and interference may cause the problem too much...I agree with you that, removing cancer can be started by operation from external part of the body, but onto it, there are cells must be sacrificed inorder to reach the problem in an internal part of the body....just like in the internal problem of the society...when you solved it as an interference, you need to make a legal issue that can be resolve as legitimate mission in the particular area...

Holy cow, the whole "do unto others" thing that Jesus talked about has completely escaped you, hasn't it?

Re-read your own question, but:

substitute "Eastern Europe, Africa, & Asia" for "Britain & the USA"

substitute "imperialism" for "terrorism"

substitute "Christian" for "Muslim"

substitute "the Eastern World" for "the Western World"

I'd imagine that's what many potential terrorists ask themselves every day.

They're wrong to think that way, and so are you.

Now this is a stunning example of conservative genius at it's best. I agree with you, the U.S. should drop the bomb and you and all your conservative friends should be underneath it. It is you and all the people like you that caused the Sept 11 terror attacks, and they will be perpetuated not erradicated due to the innability of you and your narrowminded fellows to see any other alternative. As far as I'm concerned the deaths are on your head. So scream about closing the borders, tightening securtiy, and dropping the bomb, it's your children who will pay the price for your ignorance. Nothing can guarantee the Western Worlds way of life, bomb the world to hell so you can shop at #$(* wal-mart and drive your SUV in the name of freedom.

Praise God

Yes Muslims are a cancer, after watching todays news and the reaction to the Pope`s speech (Iam not a catholic) it frightens me to think that to speak out can bring out the death penalty from these maniacs. If there are any good Muslims out there, why are they not shouting against them. The Pope only spoke, Muslims bomb.

We don't need nukes and I hope we never do.

However it would be great if we could at least fight them. We have so many rules put on us.

Our hands are tied behind our backs over here.

I think one main is the media jumping on any story and twisting it for dramatic effect. Their ratings are based on how 'terrible' they can make their viewers feel even at the expense of our military.
