It is only a waste of time when you are doing it because you just want to be lazy and put off doing something else. If it is an education program, it may actually help you learn something. Some programs on TV, okay, A LOT of programs on TV are a waste, but no one is forcing us to watch them or buy TV's as a matter of fact.

I like TV when all the good shows come out (the fall season) but I almost never watch tv in the summer.

Yes, I watch very little TV any more.

Survivor for 1 hour a week, plus an occasional Star Trek or Law & Order rerun.
