I hope it isn't considered degrading by many. Surely not everyone feels this way. I hope only few people feel it is degrading to women.

How could sex be considered degrading for a female? I'd say though inconsiderate men or overbearing parents.

I think this can come from when and with whom a person has their first experience. For men, it is viewed as an accomplishment that can come none too soon in their life and makes them a man. For women, it is viewed as a gauge of their sluttyness, that can come as late as possible.

Both impressions are wrong and hurtful to people and destructive to normal healthy sexual activity and relations. In time, and given sex happens in a committed relationship, those evaluations of people are nullified and are not a factor.

It is important that young people be careful with sexual activity and if they are judged or labeled, it is best to not take it personally and be patient as the stigma will go away in time.

Only degrading sex is degrading for a female -- or a male, for that matter. Sex and rape are not the same thing.

For sex in general to seem degrading to a woman, one would have to posess a very bizarre and unrealistic view of women's roles in society. Why would sex, the foundation on which the human race exists, be somehow negative for women?

It isn't considered degrading for or by many of us.
Trying to get women to think of sex as degrading could just be a way of trying to reduce the power of women as childbearers...by making the act of procreation degrading you can diminish the importance and value place upon having children.

Sorry, but it is a dumb question.

Who says this?

My girlfriend considers it anything but degrading. if she could, she'd put herself up for the Olympic Sex Team.

How many in the cross section of 'females' you know have you asked? What were their ages, nationalities, socio/economic status, marital status....?

Did you ask men as to whether they thought this statement the truth too?

Sash.

there's no longer something like 'subordination' in a real sense whilst the persons in touch understand what they are doing and are prepared to positioned-play for his or her mutual exhilaration. This 'woman subordination' silliness that Andrea Dworkin spoke approximately is actual previous now thinking how liberated women all human beings is sexually and how their candidness is being inspired these days.
