Why do women feel that they have to have hairless genitalia to be attractive to men. Have you been so brainwashed by pornography that you think hairless is the right thing to do. Do you really want to be with a man who doesn't accept you in your natural state. Are you really going to be teaching your daughter's that they need to be hairless as soon as they hit puberty or they won't be attractive to men. Sheesh, our social consciousness get more idiotic every day.

The replies have been both fascinating, especially the angry women ones, and disappointing. Yes, porn was the origin of your new hairless genitalia culture and yes you are choosing the hairless genitalia look for its effect on others, even when you rationalize otherwise. Your actions/choices to follow instead of lead will now have an effect on generations to follow who will, already see signs of it, feel inadequate for not living up to the new porn-inspired aesthetic. You have come such a long way haven't you ladies. Such a waste of potential intellectual power; or maybe not.

First of all...we are not brainwashed you moron! You need to get out in the world more! Most women do it because it's more comfortable, hygienic & just plain looks better. If you think about it, it also removes the risk of getting crabs or something similar cause there's no hair there for the little nasty things to cling to! All of that's why I do it at least....whether I'm single or in a relationship. I was never taught by my mother to do it & I'm not going to teach my child (whenever I have one) to do it...if they want to then it's their choice. I agree with the girl who said that hair anywhere but on a girl's head is gross. If it was possible I'd put my hair up & dip myself in that depilatory cream crap from the neck all the way down just to get rid of all the other hair.

Being hairless has nothing to do with porn. Generalizing women isn't fair either. I know men who wax too. It is up to the woman whether she feels the need to be hairless or not. It is a hygiene issue also, we feel alot cleaner when it's either all gone or neatly trimmed.

I don't feel that I have to be hairless. I just think it looks better and it feels nice.
My mom didn't teach me any of this stuff, I learned it on my own by read magazines and such. When I have children, I'm not going to teach my daughter either. She can do the same thing I did and learn this on her own.
It all just personal taste.

A woman should be trimmed and neat. Every lawn needs mowing. No one said we wanted to look like 8 yr olds. Not all waxing removes everything. Most women who do that are doing it so they can wear something . If a man and a woman both agree that they do find total hair removal titillating then that is between them and none of your business. Not everyone watches porn!

as somebody that waxes- i find it better looking and cleaner for myself. the only reason humans have hair in that area was to keep the smell of a mate- a throwback to cavemen days, if you will. as a woman, i have no hair undermy arms, or on my legs either- i prefer it that way. most of my boyfriends have shaved their faces- should all men stop shaving their face simply because hair grows there?

I personally prefer myself to be neatly trimmed not completely hairless. It is all personal preference. Many guys I know are completely hairless there also.

Gee I doubt that many Muslim women feel that way. It's not just a cultural practice, many women get their hair removed down there because it's cleaner, hygienic, more practical, cuts down on unneccessary odors, etc.

Why is it that when women decide to do something for themselves, men assume that it's because we want to be more attractive for them? I have no pubic hair because it's much more comfortable, in my opinion. If I do something to my body, it has nothing to do with what I think men want. That is ridiculous.
