I want to buy a 1GB stick of memory for my PC, but I am unsure about compatibility issues. My mainboard can take 1 GB modules. Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what RAM I need?
I've already bought one incompatible one, so I'm being extra careful this time!

Mainboard: ASUS P4S8X
Chipset SiS 648 Rev. 02
Southbridge: SiS 963
Sensor: ASB100

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz
Codename: Northwood
Brand ID: 9
Package: Socket 478 mPGA
Technology: 0.13 um
Voltage: 1.488v

Thanks for your help!

but i am wondring that my asus p5sd2-vm board is sis chipset672and968 with 667ram mhz i am just grown concern that people say intel chipset is best. well from my experience i never liked intel except ther p3 board D815. which is still relatively expensive in resale market. i just bought that p5sd2-vm asus board resently where there was another board asus p5gc-mx with intel chipset (some G31 / ICH7 thing) with 800ram mhz speed. i dont think 667 and 800 is a noticeable performance d/f to wast extra money. i am asking .... is sis chipset really will be slow compared to that intel chipset one? i am not going to use on-board vga so intels g31 graphics is no concern, neither i am concerned abt no of usb ports or audio. i concern just hdd access ram and gfx7200 card GAMING performane on my board. from that point in mind , should i go for expensive intel or my old fellow sis. i dont think sis would be still slow this might be a old issue i thing sis might have come up. do any one know any thing abt that???

This is what the Crucial website advises for your motherboard:

DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • UNBUFFERED • DDR333 • 2.5V
DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • UNBUFFERED • DDR400 • 2.6V
