And if not, why do republicans assume that every republican must be a christian?
And if there is a non-christian republican, how long do you think it will be before they realize that their party is against them and switch to another party?

I'm just asking - I don't think it's a bad question.
In my neck of the woods (Oklahoma), I get random emails from the Republican party always God-blessing this and that. This is just one of many examples which led me to this conclusion.
It is very much NOT the same as saying there are no Christian Democrats. There obviously are. There has never been an American president who wasn't a Christian.

That would be like saying that there are no christian democrats. I'm a republican because of my fiscal views not my religious views. If I switch parties it would certainly not be to the democrat party. I don't like the left wing socialist crowd that has latched on to them. I was raised a Christian, but am more spiritual.

Obviously not, based on the number of elected republican officials who have plead guilty to various crimes. A true christian may make some mistakes, but obvious sins such as bribery, theft, etc. would not be considered acceptable by a true christian. We have an awful lot of people who think they can do anything by socializing in a church and placing that label upon themselves.
I have seen no evidence that the Republican party is a party with a christian agenda. The actions taken by the Republican leadership to invade foreign countries with no reason, make major environmental concessions, and ignore poverty and hardship in America (as most evidenced by the lack of response with Katrina) are clear indicators that this party, which I formerly belonged to, has no christian agenda. Christians don't do these things. And they have compassion for our elderly, poor, sick and disabled. Certainly the party's continued push to eliminate poverty programs demonstrates it has no compassion. The nation's largest anti-poverty program, Community Services Block Grant, receives less funding each year than the cost of one B-1 bomber, and serves 13 million people. No wonder other nations laugh at us behind our backs.

Where do you get this gibberish from?
If a man, woman or child believed in the right to manage and pursue one's own destiny, free of excessive taxation, without injuring or harming another citizen, without fear of injury or harm due to one's achievements and social/economic stature, while supporting a strong economy, strong borders, a unified, proliferated and honorable American culture, language and tradition, then their religion wouldn't matter to the GOP.
Nothing is wrong with being Christian. Quit harping on religion as a social divider, the more you talk about it, the more divisive and anti-American you truly sound (while probably blaming the GOP for calling you what you are).
For the record, I'm an independent, and the staunchest supporter of Israel will likely be found among the ranks of Republicans, so your argument holds no water (but a lot of other things I can't mention on this reply).

There are non-christian Republicans. We are not against people that chose not to believe. We just think that you should have the right to be a christian if you want. Not be told "you cant pray here" and those type of things.

The religion thing is just part of the sales pitch...they really could care less about Christianity. I mean, have you ever know a generous republican? Unless of course, they got a big return on their generosity.

Party and religion are two seperate entities, thats why democrats felt they were the ones that fought for religion and the republicans as well but all parties are crooks so if thats christianity then count me in other wise, I am my own religion its safer that way.....god will smooth it out at the end.....amen
