This might sound crazy or ignorant even but is there any way to make your period shorter? Most of the time mine lasts 4 or 5 days. I haven't started yet this month but I'm due any day now. I HAVE to be done by Thursday. Is there anyway to shorten my period and make it only 3 or 4 days? We're going on vacation on Thursday and if I'm not done by then, we're not going and this is the last week we have free to go on a vacation so it's now or never.

exercise. gets you moving and that blood moving on out. so exercise hard the first two days and hopefully that should empty you out faster. though, be fore warned, you may get some major cramping.
good luck!

It's a little strange that you can't go on vacation b/c of your period. It seems that you can use birth control pills this way if you want but I am a big fan of the Diva Cup mentioned further up. I can wear it all day and just empty at the end of the day but it does take a little practice. Just tell whomever cares that you've got the "problem" solved and go on vacation. I am sorry this is of no help I just don't get your problem.

A really good way to plan exactly when you have your period (though not the length of it) is to use the birth control pill. You can plan to take the pill while you're on vacation to prevent your period and then take the placeboes at another, more convenient time. Starting the pill today could help hold off your period until after your vacation.

Why won't you go if you have it? That seems silly. Menstruation is a normal part of being female, and it doesn't have to interfere with anything.

The only way to truly influence your period is to take birth control pills, and skip the week of placebos. That way you don't have a period at all.

If you're worried about leakage, use tampons with a higher absorbency, or invest in a Diva Cup. Diva is a siliocone menstrual cup worn internally, removed and emptied, and then reinserted. With a little practice, they work very well, only have to be emptied after several hours, can be worn during intercourse, have no smell, and can last for several years. At the end of your period, you boil it to sterilize it.

When I met my husband I got on the Depo Provera shot, and my periods slowed and then they went away. Now I'm on the 5 year birth control thingie and I haven't had a period since I had my daughter 1.5 years ago and then about a year before that I didn't have one either. Birth control or some kind of chemical (like estrogen - don't know whether that slows or quickens though) would be your answer.

I know it sounds crazy but my forends swear that if you consume alcohol it will stop your period while it is still in your system... Other than that I would have to say the the Birth Control Pill - Seasonal, allows you to have only 4 periods a year. Other Birth control Pills will do the same thing, just don;t take the last week of pills (Sugar Pills). This technique would be chaper than paying for seasonal.

I guess I'm not sure either why it "has" to be done or you can't go on vacation; that's silly to me. I am not sure your reasoning of why it has to be done or you don't go, so I will give you a few tips. If you are worried about leakage, wear a higher absorbancy tampon. If you are worried about not being able to have sex and stuff with your partner, you can definately have sex and do other things even if you are still menstruating...I would just make sure you have freshly showered and both parties are okay with it. It actually helps relieve cramps to have sex and orgasm when on your period. Other than those two things, not sure why it's necessary to be done.

If you are on the birth control pill, start a new pack. Do not take the placebos ( the ones you take during your period) This will take care of your problem. Enjoy your vacation.

yes there is, you can stop it from starting (in advance) by going on birth control, female MDs do it all the time (self prescribe).

if you hurry up & ask MD (they will give it to you for vacation) you may catch it in time. , then go off pill when you are ready. that's 100% foolproof.
