Nothing is random, every thing has causes, we just lable somthing random if the causes are to complex to be known. But if you look closely at a situation, for example the lotery, you can see it is not random, here are just two causes, many are just unknown.
The balls which roll out depend on:
1. The size of the balls (there will be a tiny atomic diffrence in size)
2. The numbers you choose are not random, if they just pop into your head, its because somthing caused them to, for example you saw a number on a sign that day, ans rembered it sub conciously.
In the the same your thoughts or actions cannot be random, as you are causes to think certain theing by for example:
1. your genes.
2. Your diet.
3. The situation you are in.
4. What you sub conciously, conciously rember.
So what ever we do is caused, we cannot escape it, even if we jump of a bridge, you will be caused to do it
Do we just lcarring on living, knowing that we have no control over our own thoughts?

Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Its bound to end at some point... in a nonrandom way of course

Random is when there are several different possible outcomes of a single occurance. Each outcome is valid because it has the same odds of occuring as all the other outcomes.
When you have nothing to do and, yet, want to do something anyway then you find something to do. Even though you can't decide exactly what to do you finally settle on something but you didn't really care what it was you chose. So if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. A choice is not random. You got most of it right.

We have "Free Will". We make hundreds of decisions each day that determine the probable outcome of a given choice, based on as much data we can collect and scrutinize in a given time frame. The philosophy you are talking about is called "fatalism", and personally, I find it totally depressing. Of course we have control of our thoughts, or rather I should say the outcome of our thoughts. The thoughts may be random, but how we choose to act upon them is totally up to us as individuals.
We are not puppets to fate. The future is not written yet. All we can do is calculate probable outcomes, and then make choices of actions based on what we think/feel will be in the best interest of ourselves, and the greater good of mankind. Cheers!

The thoughts we have are based on our belief system.
We have control of our thoughts and can change them.
Most of us are not even aware of what we are thinking most of the time. It is a constant dialogue and if we listen to it we learn much. If we don't like what we are thinking then we must change our thoughts. Our thoughts are what make us what we are.
Nothing is random and nothing is fated to happen. We form our reality ourselves and we do it right now.
You are right to say that we cause everything we do but not right in saying that we cannot escape it. If WE cause it then WE can change it.

The beauty of life is that while we are not fully able to control our thoughts, we are equipped with the gift of reason. With this, we can control are actions; thus experience a better outcome to any situation. There are plenty of mishaps along the journey of life which we are not capable of predicting nor avoiding; but these things allow us to gain wisdom. Life is indeed a pre-calculated mathematical equation and mankind is merely a minuscule factor to the astronomical equation of certainty.

How can you prove that everything is pre-ordained? I think from a higher point of ourselves we try to communicate with the selves we call 'me' and we do that in ways that seem random, like you point out, but are signs designed to offer us opportunities. When 'me' learns to see these signs then I think some kind of integration would become imminent. 'Me' would then be choosing to become 'I'. I don't choose to believe in the mechanistic theory that things are just following a linear, mechanical unfolding of events, or that we have no free will. What would be the point of here? I don't believe in some kind of 'god' controlling my actions either. The potential isn't for integration to someones idea of god, it's the potential to become gods ourselves.

what a easy way to not have to face any personal failures!
lol I would love it to tall be planned because then I have no control and therefore not hand in things ever going wrong. My marriage fails? who cares! it was all planned anyway! I killed someone in a car wreck? Oh well, it's all planned, that person needed to die.
You seem to some times mix random with choice based on interlinking events though, like the lotto, no one makes you play that night you picked the number you saw on the sign, it's all choice based on enviroment.

First, I question that we have no control over our thoughts. I do understand what you're saying, though, and have thought it myself. This, to me, is why we must not judge others. There is too much unknown as to why we react as we do. However we do have choices we can make, that can make all the difference. And there is nothing for it but to keep trying, and hoping, and working for that which we believe is right. As the saying goes:
"Everything good must be worked for. This is the only way."

Pretend you have free will and don't do anything harmful or too evil or you might, in a foreordained way, come to a sticky end.
