Yes and no, but it's not Henry's fault.
Henry does score in the world cup, which is his job. However, you are right in the sense that he is underachieves there. It's not his fault though. It's a known fact that Henry needs support up front, so that's why it's SO MUCH better to play with two strikers rather than one. Throughout the entire world cup, France played with ONE striker, which was a really stupid decision from Domenech's part. Anyway, watch the France-Italy game from the 6th and you will see that Henry performs MUCH better with support. It's not about the world cup. He didn't underachieve just because it was the world cup. It was because he didn't have the support that he is accustomed to at Arsenal. However, now that Domenech is finally playing with two strikers, you will see Henry in top form.

I think Henry did well in both the 98' and the 04' WC's. I also would agree with everyone else and would like to add the fact that Zidane was the star for France where as Henry is the star for Arsenal.

u might be right in some part but i have another point of view. Both players played & sticked to their teams for a long time in the premier league so they kinda got used to it that's y they can play brilliantly in the premier league. Some strikers might find themselves scoring better & playing better in their teams but can't get that support in their national team cause they don't train a lot.Anyway thierry henry had a good first worldcup in 1998 & was one of the reasons france won the cup.He also played well in euro 2000 when France won the cup too.

yes i agree with you
but you have to know that when you play in any club , you play the whole season with the same players but when you go to the WC you play 15 days only
so you don't get the soul of the new team
like what happened with Rhonaldinho . all we know him with Barca , but with Brazil he was awful
take care
