My quarterback situation is shaky on an otherwise strong team. My starter is Pennington and my back up is Delhomme. I want to keep Pennington (taking a gamble on him returning to phenomenal form of a couple years ago). I could pick up some one off of the free agent list to replace Delhomme, and I don't want to start Pennington this week against The Pats...here is what is available, what do you all think?

Go with either Brees or Mcnair. Both have a great shot this week. Brees is going against the Pack, which is a shaky D to say the least, and with the running attack he's got behind him the Pack will be stacking the line all day. OPEN SECONDARY!
McNair is the other good option. Only one word is needed - OAKLAND

If you feel like taking a risk. Pick up Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates is a great target. otherwise Delhomme is a solid starter and if the rest of your team is good Delhomme only needs to put up 15 ppg.

Brad Johnson is gonna have a great year
Steve Mcnair looks rejuvinated in Baltimore
and Leftwich looks like he is in for another good year.
But keep Delhomme once Steve Smith gets back he and Keyshawn will be catching TD's all the time.
Avoid Favre and Carr at all Costs...Farve is only good for Throwing INT's and Carr is good for being Sacked

What do you get for points? Passing yards, rushing? Do you lose points for interceptions or fumbles?
Overall, I'd go with Brees if it's a one time start. But he could be more.
B Favre - too many interceptions
D Brees - Yes (1st choice)
B Leftwich - Yes, however prone to injury.
M Brunnell - mediocre.
B Johnson - Possibly. Starting off good.
S Mcnair - Yes, if he doesn't get hurt
D Carr - No. Unless you get points for being sacked.
P Rivers - sounds good, but you have LT as your running back. How often is he going to throw? If you get points for completions or yardage, it won't be much.
J Kitna - Hmmm

Keep Delhomme and start him, or trade him to me.
Otherwise, pick up Rivers (huge upside) or Leftwich or Brees.
I'd stay away from the old guys, they could go down at any moment. Of course, so could Pennington. They look good one week and bad the next (it's only week 1)

Go with Brad Johnson... he should be able to play steady enough to earn you some points this weekend. If not him, try either McNair, Brunnell, or Brees IN THAT ORDER... Leftwich is trash, and has been for a while... Carr gets sacked too often... Rivers isn't the real deal... and Kitna never was good in the first place.

I would not pick Farve because he's old and this is going to be he's last year playing in the NFL. I would pick D. Brees, even tho he didn't play that great in week one he is definetly going to play better this week. Just give him some time he'll get you more than enough points. If you don't like Brees than it's M Brunnell. He did great last week and he's going to get better and better. He also did pretty good last year and he's going to do better this year. So it's really
