I think he is truly a wonderful footballer and he is too young to retire. I mean, I feel REALLY SAD. I've always liked him though not as much as Zidane or Buffon. Hmm.........but I really appreciate him for caring abt his mother so much. Many ppl would have chosen to play football over tending to a sick mother.

Yes it is depressing to see him retire from international football, but yet it's enlightening to know that he'll be looking after his mother.

i KNOW!! that sucks!! :/ yeah, i didnt like him as much as zidane or buffon or anything, but i liked him you know?
yeah, "he announced on September 13, 2006 his decision to retire from the "Selección". Even though prised by some, he claimed that the frequent critics from sectors of the press and public have negativelly affected his mother's health, who has been hospitalized twice in two months since the 2006 World Cup" i was just like 'whaaaaaaaaat?' :(

hopefully, after she recovers, he'll come back. :)

Wow, I didn't know he quit. What a shame. He is such an amazing player. Maybe he will come back, though. A lot of players (like Zidane) do that.

As he's so young, he can go back in a couple of years. I think he had noble reasons to retire. Taking care of his mom is a nice thing to do
