Thats a very big question and not a childish one at all.

Actually I'd have to say God does have emotions, but doesn't get caught up in them. He has feelings and responds to those feelings in a way that satisfies God. He goes with the flow, he is pure energy in action.

Emotions are reactions to situations and we humans are not good at letting them go. We get caught up in them and they end up controlling our lives. We get disease as a result - dis-ease. Emotions are seen as energy in motion. As soon as these emotions get stuck we suffer. We're good at the suffering thing. That's one reason why Ricky Lake makes so much money! (God help us).

By the way, Love is a feeling and not an emotion.

I don't think so. He does love, but that is not an emotion, more a state of being. Emotions are creations of the human mind and reflections of the societies we live in. They come and go and they change. Fear, for example, is an emotion. God doesn't feel, He doesn't emote, He is,

No. Since emotions are biological in nature and depend upon a social environment to develop.
Since god, if it exists, lacks a physical body and (presumably) a society, then we can say that god lacks emotions.

Ps. 37:11 says, "Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice that I may make a reply to him that is taunting me." So God's heart rejoices when people obey him. 1 John 4:8 says, "He that does not love has not come to know God because God is love." This scripture shows that God is the essence, the epitome of love. Genesis also says that we are made in his image. Therefore, the compassion, pity, joy, love, sense of justice and humor, etc. that we feel all originated with God.

Yes, for example he got angry at the people of Soddom and Ghamorrah and destroyed them. As for the other person that said he could control them- well, that control all really started in the New Testament, right? The Old Testament God was pretty vengeful, and if you werent with him, he was pretty against you.

Sure He does, Remember Moses and the 10 Comandments. And how about Sodom and Gomorrah. There are many other examples in the Old Testament.

Not childish, a great question! We are created in Gods image. Jesus wept. If we have a sense of humor, so does God. Same goes with sadness and anger.

He has all the same positive emotions that we have-love, tolerance, joy and none of the negative ones.
