I had a misccarige at 2 month, been off work for 14 days.I provided a paper from a doctor to my emplyee.I payd weekly, so one day in a week when i went to emerency , i wasnt payed and they didnt pay me any sick pay.Its a big well knowing company.Im not married and have no family here, so have to pay for my self depending on my employee.Im so ungry.I want them explained why.Where i should go for help and what to do?

Legally an employer must pay you after 5 days sick, especially if you've provided a doctors note. Any more trouble go see the citizens advice.

if you are in the uk u would not be entitled to ssp untill u were off work more than four days and provided a sick line from doctor,,,,,,,,,,you have met these requirements if you have been off work for 14 days and handed ur line in . you will not be paid for the first 4 days of being sick but shuld now be getting £70.05 per week pro rata till our return.

It all depends on what kind of SSp your employer operates. If you pay no tax or Ni you may be issued with a SSP! which ur employer has to provide by law if they do not operate a SSP scheme which is taken to ur local DSS for u to receive payment.......the Dss takes ages to decide im afraid

The first thing you must do is to contact your direct manager and ask why you have not been paid sick days and ask him to back his statement by pointing you to a particular statement in the company rule handbook (of some sort)

If you do not agree, then take it to the Human Resources department and ask for explanations.

Often, there are simple misunderstanding or hold up in documentations preventing you from being paid.

I believe, I may be out of date, that statutory sick pay is paid after a short period and is paid by the Department of Social Security.

However, if you are a casual worker (cash in hand) or if you are a "grey market" employee, you have no such rights, it's harsh but reality.

Citizens Advice Bureaux is your next port of call, or you can call the department of employment.

Go above your manager/supervisor's head to either their supervisor or Human Resources dept. It probably depends on how long you've been with this company as to whether or not you're allow sick pay. Depending on the state as well if you're in one of those type of jobs where they can decide how they'll pay you and if they'll even accept doctor's notices. Good luck

Are you entitled to sick pay? It is a benefit, NOT an absolute right.
My employer does not pay for sick time at all for anyone.

What does your employee handbook say as to eligibility?

If you are eligible, approach payroll and ask why you were not paid.

Why isn't the father helping you financially?

depends on your company policy- I work for Teamsters ..we don't get paid until off for 10 days then start getting paid on day 11, and then only 5 days out the week peroid
