I think its asking for trouble. People need to stop being labeled by race and judged by their character alone.

If you don't watch the show, shut up. You have no clue what it's about. The show is not promoting racism or negative opinions of any race. In fact, this show is getting more minority participants on it than in the first 12 shows TOTAL. It should help promote positive feelings as now we won't have "the black guy" "the Asian chick" or "the Hispanic dude". They are all well represented by several people of their race.

As I thought, it was no big deal. If anything, I think it inspired each group to want to prove themselves as NOT being a stereotype and that they were able to perform as a group just as well if not better than one of multiple races. I am white and I actually dislike the white team for the most part.

Finally, it's still just a TV SHOW PEOPLE! And a game. The people on the show were surprised by the concept (they showed their reactions) but not unpleasantly so and they actually seemed to like it. If it doesn't bother THEM, why should it bother anyone else??

They have Survivor shoes now? Do they wear them on the "show?"
Seriously, it is a bad idea. I never watch Survivor but this is going to be the most violent one yet. There is going to be so much tension between them. And I guarantee they will mix the races close to the end of the show. That's when all the action is gonna start. Someone will get hurt, just wait.

I thought is was an interesting idea before I saw it, now that I have, I´ve totally changed my mind. It didn´t take long for all the worst possible side effects to come to the fore. Stereotypes WERE reinforced and interracial tension was immediately present. I think this show´s impact on society is detrimental, which is really too bad since I think Survivor is an interesting and entertaining TV show.

I thought that it was a good idea it will show how the different races work as teams and also together, I don't thin it was meant to be raciest, its just showing us how the different cultures cope in the everyday world is all! I give it an A so far my thoughts my change as the season goes on but that's my thoughts for now!!

look, this topic has gone way overboard! it is a show, if you don't like it, change the channel. if survivor would not have done it this way there still would have been tribes split up meaning not everyone would be working together as you would like. i didn't hear anyone complaining last season when the tribes were split up between young women, young men, older women, and older men.
i don't complain about channels that aren't directed toward my race. BET is a channel that stands for black entertainment. i am not complaining or shouting racism. it is a television show created for entertainment value and if people don't like it, change the channel!

I do not watch the show, but I have been displeased by the number of people who approved of the show's producers to divide up the contestants based on their ethnic background. It's not cute or novel in any respect. Racism and prejudice are in the past and should remain there. On the contrary, instead of categorizing individuals by race, we must always be conscious of our tendency to do so and we must caution ourselves not to fall prey to simplistic ways of looking at the world. Survivor wants us to take a step backward and I for one do not wish to do so, even if it is in the context of a "reality" television game show.

I like it...It's just a game & I don't think it's a problem at all. They will eventually merge so what difference does it make? People need to calm down & just be happy.
