My guy friend and I were engaged in a debate, and we'd somehow started on the subject of homosexuality. We were talking, and he believes that just because one member of a sex, has sex with another member of the same sex, that does not make the person homosexual. An analogy used was like when some women kiss other women, it does not necessarily mean they are lesbians. While I agree with the fact that just because some young, partying college girls tounge kiss one another all in the name of fun or experimentation, that does not make them lesbian; I am not sure if it would be correct to apply the same logic to two members of the same sex having intercourse with one another. Although as I write this, it is kind of making sense to me...because after all some people are just very free sexually, and like to experiment, and I know that homosexuality is not just about sex. What's your stance on this? Do you agree with his argument? I guess it all would depend on the individual...

They can be bisexual or experimenting.

I'm a lesbian, but I didn't find out until very recently. But now I know why I wasn't interested in or enjoying hetero sex, and I won't be going back to it. To me that doesn't make me less of a homosexual. Some could argue that it makes me bisexual, but that's not my feeling. I was in denial before and now I'm doing the right thing.
I agree with your friend.

all ppl are mostly just "sexual". there's sort of a spectrum of sexuality. most ppl are "mostly straight". no one is "totally 100% straight" and has never even remotely considered an encounter with someone of the same sex. some ppl who are somewhere in the "middle" of the spectrum, and genuinely like "both" (for different reasons), are what we call "bi". others simply can't get AS turned on by someone of the opposite sex as they can by someone of the same sex, thus they are "homosexual". i believe it's hardwired in our brains from birth as to what our "orientation" is going to be. i believe science will prove that in the future. still, however, the "homo" can , and oftentimes they do, have sex (sometimes enjoyable sex, just maybe not AS enjoyable ) with someone of the opposite gender , and even reproduce in many cases, but , if forced to "choose", for their own enjoyment they would simply have to choose the same gender if they're going to be honest. but , if someone has homosexual encounters, even numbers of them, and prefers sex with the opposite gender in general, then that person would probably best be described as "mostly straight", but with a possibility of "bi". but there is no 100% either way. everyone has thought of it before. most don't act on such thoughts, for various reasons, but , it's totally natural to have such thoughts and even to try out intimate encounters with people of the same gender. after all you'll never know unless you try.

yes I agree - homosexuality is about being attracted to the same sex; like you said, sexual acts can be about experimentation and not necessarily involve attraction
