Yep, helping people to understand how to actually solve a math problem ,or, really understand the basis for say a historical issue, is really great; I actually like to answer/help more in history, social studies, etc. but the same principles apply in all fields. On the other hand, we only do a disservice to those people that are just looking for a quick answer without really caring how to actually solve the problem for themselves; not only are these people most likely going to be required to know this same information for future tests, but, these reasoning skills need to be developed to advance further with their studies be it in math, science, social studies or just about any field of study; not to mention that they may actually need to know this information out "in the real world." I definitely try to stay away from questions where people want a quick answer without caring anything about the reasons or logic behind the reply; thanks for using Answers/Homework Help responsibly instead of using it as a "crutch" like so many others.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- there's a difference between HELPING and spoon feeding an answer. There's also a difference in expecting an ANSWER and expecting HELP. The best way to get help with homework is to offer up what YOU are doing to try to solve the problem so that someone can see what step or steps you might be doing incorrectly.

God bless you, Sweetie, for learning algebra. I never got it in school. I have NO idea how I passed. I guess by the skin of my teeth.

Anytime, although I'm not that great in Algebra either. I love to help when I can.

You are most welcome. I know it can be daunting but honestly, Algebra is one of the most useful subjects. I use it frequently when problem solving in my every day life. Good luck and glad we can provide some help!

Wow! How sweet of you, Marie! I don't think I've ever responded to one of your questions, but I think it's really great that you are taking the time to say thanks. What a gal!
