Oh sure. When I was 38 I lost a lot of weight. I was shopping for fashionable clothes. Looking good for a change. That Christmas my mother gave me a robe. It was one of those big old granny type terry cloth robes. Not exactly in keeping with what I'd been purchasing. It was really hard to keep the expression on my face from changing. lol I don't think I ever did wear that robe. (-:

A sweater from my mom. Only wore it twice then dumped it in the my closet never to by seen again. She doesn't even remember it. So don't tell.
Also when I was little I had to wear a halloween vest she made me. I took it off the instint I saw a teacher wearing the same thing. The vest has never been seen again.

I've received gifts that I wasn't fond of but never let on to the giver. Those are the gifts that get recycled to someone that I know will appreciate them. Great question! Happy Friday!

my mother in law always gets me stinky perfume baskets. She is alot older than me and we don't like the same thing. When ever I give presents I always include a gift receipt with the gift and tell them it does hurt my feelings if they take it back. So now after Christmas - I am alway one of the people who stand in line to return her gift but at least now she started giving me gift receipts.

A faded looking glass candle holder, which was yellowish green in color. I bet he was doing some spring cleaning when he spotted it. We've all known him for being cheap, so I was like, what the heck? you might as well not give me anything. I threw it away the next day.

Yes but was always taught to be thankful for the fact that someone gave.
If in time you see it is something you really cannot use, then share the joy of giving with another......your kindness will come back to you.

Almost every year for christmas. Hopefully that changes since the person involved isn't going to be in the family anymore.
