I work at an office and I get tired of wearing the same boring stuff to work. How can I dress up my usual black slacks and solid color top without looking inappropriate at work?
And who makes the best fitting slacks for a slim figure?

Thanks!

I do dress up sometimes depends on my mood, you dress up solids with a little flower or a brooch, also a scarf tied in a rose or bow, you can wear a tie but not tied like a man tho, also you can wear your scarf like a tie, you can add a belt you know those little string looking belt, just be creative you can also search the net and look for some Ideas

Hmmm....I guess I'm lucky to work somewhere where's no dress code unless you're seeing a client. I find that when I do dress up for work, black slacks is always the way to go. I a few pairs from banana repulic, french connection, and jcrew. I'm pretty slim so they look really good. the cut is a little on the low side so a great black tight sleeveless shirt, or a fitted button down shirt look really good w/ the pants. if you want to dress it down, try wearing opened toed shoes. Also I find that wearing a sleeveless top dresses the pant down but not as much. Wearing really great accessories work too.

Accessories Accessories Accessories! Great inexpensive way to show your individuality without going too wild. Target has some great fashion jewerly. Stick to basics in black, silver, gold etc untill you build your inventory.

Sorry,I cant get my URL to post a link to Target's fashion Jewerly but Just go to Target.com and you'll see.

*Also consider other neutrals in your clothing besides black. Brown is a hot new neutral and so is navy or khaki.

Wear a cool sweater vest over an oxford with your pants. You can get several sweater vests in different colors/designs, and you can mix and match them with different shirts. Also, Target right now has some really cool cowl neck shirts and sweaters. They look great under a blazer with pants. GAP has pants for all figures.

i work in a call center they would like you to dress up but you dont have to ....it depends on what kind of mood i'm in and what the weather is like....if its rainy and cold just a pair of jeans and a tee shirt or hoodie....i think that just black slacks with a fitted shirt just fine nothing wrong with that
