Soak it in Oxyclean and luke warm water. Rinse and repeat the Oxyclean soak. The water may turn yellow but the dress will be white. Oxyclean is not a bleach and will not destroy the crochet thread. Enzyme cleaners are very effective on delicate fibers.

Oh.. that sounds like a beautiful garment.. I would NOT want to try to bleach it myself.. I think (No, I know) I would take it to a cleaners.. a good cleaners and ask them what would be the best solution for getting it white... I say a good cleaners, meaning that I would talk with someone there who knows what they are doing and not some kid who just started last week workilng there.

Use the white gown, and doubtless you may gown it up with a crimson ribbon tied right around the waist. Or colored tights. in trouble-free terms a small touch of colour will throw off the christening gown look. Oh, and that i positioned my daughter in a crimson gown with lace at my cousin's wedding ceremony, and have been given asked how old is he?!?! old women can regularly mistake gender. suitable needs.

Posibaly. A friend of mine took an old wedding dress in to get it white again and the drycleaner said he could do it but it would take several times.
