I am bidding on a semi acoustic that has the electric parts removed. Is it possible to re-outfit it for electric use, and who would be able to do such a thing. also, about how much would that cost?

Yeah you can get new electronics installed. You need to find a guitar technician who's competent in electronics and acoustic guitar pickup/preamp installations. The cost will depend on where you are and how the competition in your area is. Out here in Thousand Oaks, California we charge $100 for the labor plus the cost of parts. Make sure that the guitar wasn't originally outfitted with some odd spec. electronics though, because there might not be replacements in the same sizes available if so. If it was just and under-saddle transducer with the output jack at the base of the guitar you'll be able to find a new rig real easy. If it was a preamp and the guitar is a standard brand, you might be able to get a replacement direct from the manufacturer or one of their dealers. If you have any more questions call a local musician's retail store that you trust to be knowledgeable. Good luck and I hope you get what you want.

There are a few companies that make sound hole pickups for acoustic...they generally sound kinda tinny and aren't very good...you can always put back the electric parts but my opinion man....for what it's worth...buy a guitar set up the way you want it....go to guitar center or go to their web site...they have tons of used equipment and the new stuff is priced better than anywhere.

Generally-speaking yes. You would need to install some kind of pick-up at the very minimum. You'd probably want a volume and.tone control. The price would depend on what kind of pick-up, whether you intend to do the work yourself, etc. If you have a good guitar store in your town, people there ought to be able to do it without any problem.

Yeah you can have it done, or just but an acustic pickup, they slide into the hole (it's basiclly a pickup with a 1/4" plug and cord) and use that, They work great and only cost about $40. Just about all msuic stores should have them.

the easiest thing to do would be to buy a soundhole pickup, they can cost from $20 on up. you could also rig a built in pickup back in, but that would cost quite a bit more.
