Racism is hatred of another race.
Segregation is separating people due to color.
This isn't racism, it's voluntary segregation. And, I say, if the participants know what the game-plan is beforehand, and they accept it, then we should too.

It seems the producers were trying to appease the political correctness police who were complaining about the lack of ethnic diversity on the show.(Damned if you do,damned if you don`t.)When I first heard the idea,I was turned off but then I thought maybe it`s time someone acknowledged the elephant in the room.America is a very diverse country and tolerance doesn`t`t necessarily mean ignoring our differences.Maybe it`s not a bad idea to get a glimpse of what real people are really saying when they`re not being politically correct.I think we should watch the show, see how it plays out and then make a judgment.

Why does everyone think this is racist. I think it is a novel idea that should have been done before. I'm surprised that the show wasn't called racist before with so few minorities and them always being the first to go. This way we can see each peoples strengths as an individual.

To me its not any different than last season's separation by old woman against young woman and the same of men. I love survivor and will always. The way i see it its the media and stupid people's perspective of the new survivor that's blowing it WAY out of proportion.

Isn't it obvious? Nobody was watching Survivor any more... Now that they separated into different races, people are talking about it.
The same reason that Jerry Springer is popular. Nobody wants to watch good TV any more, they just want to see people fight and insult one another...hence the reason TV shows do it for the ratings...

Ratings.
TV watchers love controversy. They love to watch shows that cause it. It got boring. Less people are watching it. To keep it up the writters need new ideas so they chose this one to keep the show hip. It's all about ratings.

I wouldn't say the turned racist. They are trying a social experiment. What happens in groups of related ethnicity. what happens when they merge. what will they and the public think.
They're just trying something new. Trying to keep interest in the show.

Could be cause it has been lame after season 1 IMHO. They want to shake things up. Not really racist.

There's nothing racist about it. It's a great sociology and psychology experiment. Way cool.
