Few months ago I told my former friend that I believe we Americans are becoming more and more unpopular to other countries because the Americans act and behave like they can take over the world. To which he replied, "that's because we can." What do you think of his answer?

Ignorant, but I'm European, so I know what you mean by becoming less and less popular over here and other parts of the world. It's because of answers like the one from your friends that America's reputation is going down the drain, well that and the whole Bush thing, I have to say that's probably the most important reason. Some people here and in other parts of the world say all Americans are idiots and fools, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and I know some of you are great, intelligent and interesting people but the US should get their act together.

LOL, Europeans calling Americans stupid. Now thats the height of hillarity. Too bad most of Europe has become barely relevant in today's global society because of their lack of.. well, something, Ill leave it at that. Anyway, your friend is wrong. The US could destroy the world with its nuclear stockpile, that much is true. But the US could not take over (and somehow control) the entire world. Just not enough troops to handle all the ground work that would be required, not enough by a mile.

no you're wrong we unpopular because the certain powers decided that we should get into something that we knew nothing about but it was a good thing because a dictator was taken down. as for us getting what we want i don't see all Americans acting that way and as for taking over the world a nation will rise , but it will not be the right nation.

If it weren't for America, Europe today would be a German speaking area something like the old soviet union. They would all be Nazi's instead of the communists they are now. Europe still has no guts and would like everyone else to bow down to their superior something. I do not think most of Europe has a clue what goes on in the real world.

I personally think that we Americans are not represented accurately by our government-I don't think we can take over the world but our government does therefore we are the most hated country in the world.Everyone thinks that we are bullies.

The Americans couldn't take over the world even if they were paid to do so. They are even less likely to organize a piss-up in a brewery.

Obivously we cannot take over the world since we cannot even capture Bin Laden. But they are jelous because we have the best lifestyle, if we wanna get fat we can if we wanna vote we can!!!

it's not true the US is loseing lots of troops it's impossible you're right though the other countries espeacilly canada hate the US because the covermont thinks their runing things it's kill or be killed out there kid so just watch you're back......ok?
