I am not afraid of homosexuals. I have known several. Do I agree with their lifestyle? The answer is a resounding No. I have known a variety of people and I don't agree with their lifestyles but the way I see it it is their life and they will have to stand before God someday and answer for their choices in life.

I want to start by saying, I am NOT gay. I would love to add that there is not a homophobic bone in my body. Why should someone hate because of someone's sexual preference. Some of my best friends through the years have been both gay males, and gay females. To anyone who is homophobic, you have no idea the friendships you may be missing out on. You are no better because you are straight... and you would be no better if you were purple, red, green, or polka dotted... give it up, these people are great!

I'm not, but I'm from a small town where everyone else is. Which is funny because some of my best friends from there are gay. I guess it helps when you go to college and get away from narrow mindedness.
They could have never come out in high school. we would have had townspeople lining up with torches.
I love the gays! haha. no seriously, some of my gay friends are the closest and most intimate friends I have. Just because they're gay doesnt mean theyre some other species without real thoughts and emotions... which is what some people treat them as.
I guess i went on a bit of a rant there... sorry.

No. I have learned that no matter what your sexuality is, if you recognize and accept other peoples' sexuality, then you will be comfortable with your own. Most gay bashers and other anti-gay people are unhappy with their own sex lives, probably as a result of being repressed (for example by religious extemists) or inexperience. People confident in their sexuality (either gay or straight) seem to be the least homophobic (or heterophobic).

I'm not. I mean, I don't want any lesbians hitting on me (but then again, I'm happily married, so I don't want anyone of any persuasion hitting on me, at all), but I have no fear of them.
However, that does not mean I have to accept their lifestyle choice as being good, healthy, or natural. Same as with promiscuity, smoking, drugs, obsessing over money, hatred of parents, and so on. I tolerate it, but don't have to stand behind it and say it's OK.
And I've had a few friends that were bi- or gay. Some of the coolest people I'd met, and I respect them (not because of their gayness, but because of the people they were... not because of some gay-pride banner, but because they were kind and quick to befriend).
Although, I have to admit, I find effeminate men to be disturbing. Metrosexual is one thing, but outright effeminacy is just creepy (I also find that Hardee's chiliburger "It'll make a man out of you", with the woman smelling her pits, hand down her pants Al-Bundy-style, saying 'pull my finger', commercial to be equally creepy).

no I work with too many gay people to be homophobic, and there are too many in my department in school, so I'd be SOL trying to network if I was homophobic.

It depends on what you mean by homophobic. I don't particularly like active homosexuals. I especially don't like the fact that even though I'm straight, and I tell them I'm straight, they still continue to hit on me.
Yet, that's just me. I don't like racists either. I don't have any skinhead friends. I especially got/get really sick of people making racist comments to me just because I'm white. Like...I share the same attitude.
I'll be personable with you but personally...stay the hell away from me.

That's hard to answer but I will tell the truth. I do not approve of the lifestyles but I do believe in the fact that you have the right to live the lifestyle you choose whatever that lifestyle is.

Yes , I am . I dont like people who are queer. If your gay and look , talk , act like a normal human being then I wont know your gay , dont ask dont tell , no problem . If you act ***** then you can expect to be treated *****. Its not what you do at home , its how you are in public.

I don't think anyone is homophobic. Is it wrong in my book... of course!
Some people ask me what my problem is with gay people. Its called, trying to change a society which doesn't accept it. I have nothing against gay people but don't push something that is un-natural on people who don't have a chemical in balance. Not to mention trying to change the only word that straight people have that united them in holy matrimony. Marriage is a religious term, leave it alone!
