Perhaps you are using the wrong type of foundation? Mary Kay, for example, offers a creme to powder, a loose powder, a medium coverage liquid, a full coverage liquid, and just recently released a tinted moisturizer. Try using different types of foundation, not just different brands.
Also, don't use foundation to cover your face. You are only supposed to apply it to the t-zones. If you are looking to cover up flaws in your skin, try using a concealler. And make sure the foundation you are using matches your skin. It should never be a shade darker. If your looking for a less pale look, use a bronzer.

I just started using a make-up primer, and I can't believe the difference. I used to get shiny by the middle of the day, now my face stays nice and fresh, and the make-up stays put. There are several on the market these days. The one I use is from Vital Radiance. I apply it after my moisturizer, right before my foundation. Hope this helps.

Most prestige brands carry a product called "primer" it's sole purpose is to create a base for foundation. It helps it to go on more evenly and helps it to last longer. Also, if you use a loose powder over top of your foundation it will set it, which also helps it to last. Instead of using a moisturizer and a foundation, there are "tinted" moisturizers on the market too - this saves time & money and they are very natural looking. Marcelle makes one, Vichy and Lancome.

SHEERCOVER
It's made of all natural minerals, you only use a SMALL amount, it's a very thin powder, and it works wonders!!!!!!!!
It's so awesome....It's so thin and so light that you don't even notice that you're wearing it.
You cant tell that it's there.
And it makes your skin look flawless!
I promise you that you'll love it if you try it.
It's slightly expensive, but lasts a long time.
It comes with 4 different powders, 2 facial creams, a lotion, and a book.
Sounds complicated, but you only have to use one powder. The give you the extras so that you can pick between them. :P

If you have ever watched the Tyra Banks show, she has an episode were she teaches how to apply all your make up.. the tip for you would be to first wet your face with water and wet the small sponge you use to apply the foundation. the water makes it spread more evenly. and always use powder after the foundation.
