I just bought a new bed and when I move it squeaks. It's driving me nuts!!! I'm not sure if it's the boxspring or the frame. Help! How do I get it to stop sqeaking? (And please don't tell me to just stop moving in my bed, that's so not going to happen!!!)

Thank you!!!

Try to isolate the source of the noise. Are there wooden slats as part of the frame? Most likely, two "things" or parts of the bed are rubbing one against the other. Try to figure out what that might be. Probably not cloth covered parts. If you can find the source, apply candle wax or a tiny bit of Vaseline. If the frame is metal, look for places where metal rubs against metal. A very small amount of oil will work wonders.

Squeaking generally comes from 2 separate pieces of wood rubbing ; ie slats and frame, frame and headboard. check those spots and stick a few layers of duct tape or something soft between them. Heh and just what are you doing in your bed that requires moving??

if you do not want to take it back try putting stips of carpeting or cloth between the slats and frame or between the slats and box springs just a thought

Stop having sex. That is what causes our bed to squeak. Our neighbor told us so.
