install winrar can be for free, when installed go to the rar files if its a eg a film it will have about 16 files click on one and then using ctrl highlight them all right click and then hit extract to here the rar files will open in the same folder it could be an avi file which you can use divx player to watch or it might be cue and bin files which u can use vlc player to watch although this is not recommended for pc's to burn cue you open it with say nero and you use a blank cd and make a vcd.

in detail i can say as follows
the files which you store in your computer is in scattered form just like scattered papers,,..now if you put the papers in a cabinet it occupies less space ..the same is over here
