Yep he is a baddie, but he sure is, my fav character in the Slayers anime. ^_^

I've always thought xelloss was primarily a selfish person, ie, out for his own good and that of his master. Whether or not that makes him bad....I don't know. It's been a while since I saw any Slayers, but when I was watching, his motivation wasn't that clear. It seemed that he wanted the others to succeed, but mostly because it would benefit him, not because he cared what happened to them.

from the episodes I saw I think he is neutral.
he's a demon but doesn't attack humans as other demons do.
he is in a human form but never fights the other demons.
lends a neutral hand to the group for a price.
