yeah you can sleep on your tummy until it's uncomfortable for you! Your baby is wrapped in lots of padding from the amniotic fluid to the placenta to the utuerus....it would take a lot of squashing to do any harm....I slept on my stomach until I was about 16 weeks and my kids are all great! Congrats to you!

If you are typically a stomach-sleeper, this should not cause a problem for you this early in the pregnancy. However, as you progress into the second and third trimesters, this will not be possible. Once sleeping this way becomes uncomfortable for you, then you will know that it is time to switch to side or back sleeping. Often, the most comfortable position for pregnant women is on her left side (to avoid pressure on the venae cava), with a fairly firm pillow to properly support her head, and a second pillow between her knees. This helps take excess pressure off the lower back muscles, and helps to relieve the fatigue caused by carrying the excess belly weight.
In some cases, the growing fetus pushes up on the diaphragm and stomach, causing acid reflux, making side sleeping difficult. In instances where the symptoms are severe, then the best way to sleep is with the head elevated, knees drawn up, and a pillow or wedge under the knees / or with the legs elevated. This takes some getting used to - and difficult to achieve in a standard bed without waking frequently throughout the night to reposition.
The good news is, the discomfort is temporary.

Yes, I don't think you have to worry about sleeping on your side until you are well into your second trimester. I am 7 weeks pregnant and I sleep on my tummy every night.

Yep, you can. And get lot of sleep while you can. There will come a point where it's no longer comfortable to sleep on your stomach. Funny thing, after two kids, I've never gone back to my old way of sleeping (on my tummy); I always sleep on my side.

Oh yeah! do it until it is no longer comfortable. You will miss it! I am usually 4 months when I can't sleep fully on my tummy. After that i kinda do a side/tummy sleep.... Don't really know how to explain it .. and once you are as big as me (37wks) you can't even do that. I have enough trouble sleeping on my side! lol. good luck

Yes, you can sleep on your tummy all through your pregnancy as long as you are comfortable. Sleeping on your tummy will not hurt the baby at all.

I wouldn't. You need to start sleeping on your left side, it's the best for circulation during your pregnancy. Since it might take you awhile to get used to it, better to start now. Eventually you won't be able to sleep on your tummy because of your belly and you'll find other positions you once loved are no longer comfortable.

You should have no problems sleeping on your tummy. It's fine until it's uncomfortable to YOU. Sleep any way you want for now... it's going to be rough in a few months!

Well, durring pregnancy its not advised to sleep on your tummy. Of course early in pregnancy is ok cause they baby cant feel the pressure yet cause they are too small. But, once your at 10wks. i would deffinately find an alternative.

Sure can-I slept on mine til they practically wheeled me into the delivery room, then again, not everyone is alike or would be comfortable doing that. I think some of the above answers give pretty good advice. God made us to be stronger and do things that do not harm the child, en utero or in the world!
