Ok, so I dont understand why people say false labor. If youre having pain and all that stuff ... and your not in labor isnt it just .... being in pain and NOT labor??? Why is it "false" labor just cuz it's not labor? When a woman (who's not preg) throws up they dont call it "false pregnancy" .. she just threw up. I hope this isnt confusing. I just dont get why such a title would be put on something that is normal in pregnancy. What do you think? I guess what I'm trying to say is that they should even put labor in there if it's just pain.

It is an old term tht people still use. It is called Braxton Hicks contractions and many women are afraid that they are in labor when they occur.

Should we call it "real pain" instead of "false labor"?

I have not experienced false labor, but I have had a miscarriage. If false labor or real labor is anything like that, it doesn't really fall under the category of pain either.

Cramping, severe cramping. Contractions.

Pure pain feels a hell of a lot different. I'll take labor, miscarriages, false labor any day over pain.

It's only called false labor when the woman thinks she is in labor.

It's called that because the woman THINKS she is in labor but then it is determined she is not so therefore, it was false labor.

"False" labor--or braxton hicks contractions do feel like you are in labor. They are the exact same--it's just they aren't. It is confusing. No one knows unless they've actually experienced it.
